ABOUT US

Jumpstart is a national early education organization that rigorously trains dedicated college students and community volunteers, known as Corps members, to serve preschool children in low-income neighborhoods. Jumpstart at Howard University has been continuously working towards the day that every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed for over 10 years.

On April 11, 2014 Jumpstart will be hosting its 12th annual Jumpstart For A Day (JFAD) event at Howard University. We will be inviting more than 300 DC Public school children, their families, teachers and the media to participate in JFAD. The event is a one-day learning fair where children and families are invited to participate in fun and educational stations that foster literacy, social and cognitive skills needed for success in the classroom.
